Can't score parking any lower than a one, that's a pity! it deserves far less. Tried to use parking facility over weekend, could see many empty places behind barriers, obviously not available to visitors, outpatients or even staff of lower grades (apparently they have to queue and pay) What an absolute shambles. Health Authorities really need to look at this. Reviews over last 5 years are testament to abject failings in services of this place

As said by someone before deserves zero at best. Everyone is in the same position waiting for a parking space at a hospital it's not as if we're going for a jolly somewhere and some jobsworth is running round behind us with a ticket machine. Absolute disgrace.

Most space taken for staff, understandable, but space is v limited for visitors. It was dark, pouring down when we arrived. We couldn't see a pay point as visibility was low. Then we discovered we needed coins (really!!). Makes visiting a nightmare

Can never find a place to park (except at 8am at weekends) so the answer is to drop patient at door and be recalled later which means patient is unaccompanied while at the hopital; not ideal, especially if they are in a wheelchair. This hospital has a multitude of areas for staff parking but very little available for public parking. Plenty of ground space to put a multi storey as has been done at other hospitals in the north east.

If I could give zero I would. Already anxious about a procedure. Drove round car park for 35 minutes making me 10 mins late for appointment. Ended up parking in road of car park so fully expect a ticket. Now sitting in waiting room in tears awaiting appointment

My friend went to park on the double yellow lines. She has a disabled badge. A warden came over and told her she couldn't park there. So she moved the car to another space. Without yellow lines . In front of some bollards and there was a bollard behind her car . When she returned to her car there was a parking ticket on her window. There was a red car parked behind her. .inwhitch they had moved the bollard to park there. But there was no ticket on there car . I had taken photos of the space. As l was upset with the manner of the person who spoke to first. If changes where to occur with disabled badge holders. Please could people be contacted. Eg can't park on double yellow lines.

Drove around car park 3 or 4 times. Wife in wheelchair had important appointment so needed to park somewhere. Ended up parking on end of line of cars perfectly safe and paid £4. Come back to the car to find a ticket. £25 ! Why not build a multi storey if they know its always busy ? Absolute bollocks !!!

Arrived 35mins before an appointment...ended up dropping Partner off at the main entrance and drove around for 40 mins trying to get a space! Didnt help that some drivers just "parked" up staying in the car waiting for someone to leave, creating less room for people to get around. Ended up going off up a side street and waited there...absolutely ridiculous. Please please get more spaces for visitors and some separate for outpatients!!!!!

Not enough spaces, machines only take coins and often eat them (if working at all).

That these only take coins in 2021 is pretty bloody painful to be honest.

Abismal trying to park, the trust need to look at this appalling situation

Mar 13, 2021

Is the above review really the only criticism of the truly appalling parking situation at DMH? Given the considerable revenue stream accrued by the existing facilities, a few suggestions: 1). Increase the number of Blue Badge spaces. 2). Install one of the parking ticket machines adjacent to the bb parking area. 3). Set up mobile phone / card payment facilities. 4). Install an upper level parking deck. Prefabricated units are readily available and could double the number of available parking spaces in a couple of months or less. It's high time for ploughing back some of the profits.

Absolutely stuffed, suggest a queueing system for cars waiting for a space as two cars jumped in front of me to grab spaces becoming available. Then when I got a space I was physically unable to walk as far as the ticket machine to pay for it being disabled! If disabled parking is to be paid for the least you could do is to make payment accessible to disabled people like a machine near the door or payment by mobile phone.
