Parking is now severely restricted because of construction of a mult-level parking garage. I believe this disruption will continue for most of the year.

Parking in Edingburgh

Parking in Edinburgh is relatively straightforward as there are plenty of short-term pay and display spaces and car parks throughout Edinburgh city centre.

On-Street (Pay & Display)

There are almost 500 pay and display machines and about 5,500 parking spaces in Edinburgh. You may pay either with coins (machines accept 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p and £1 and £2 coins), or by using your mobile phone with mPark.

Maximum stay periods in pay and display bays in the city centre range from 30 minutes to 4 hours.

Pay and display spaces operate from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm, Monday to Saturday in the central zones, and usually between 8.30 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday in the peripheral zones.

Off-Street (Car Parks)

There are several car parks in and around Edinburgh City Centre offering short term and long term parking.
