Just received a PCN demanding £100 (or £60 if paid within 2 weeks). Luckily, I kept the windscreen display ticket, called the company, proving I had not overstayed the parking time, and had paid the £1.40 hourly charge. I was given the chance to pay £20 instead. SCAMMERS! They can take me to court, risk losing and having to pay all court costs!

As others have said - AVOID! Received a parking fine of £170 for parking here. Have proof of payment but they are alleging we didnt pay for enough time despite photos going in and out of car park being within the 3 hours we paid for. Looks like they try it on with all those visiting!

Won't recommend, as mentioned before I got fine twice this year for no obvious reason and could never get any money back. I lost £360 to these horrible people because as they say, they couldn't find my address so it has got sorted twice through a third party.

I would not recommend using this car park. I purchased a ticket by cash and correctly displayed this within my car window screen. However, I have subsequently received a fine for £100 for not purchasing a ticket. When I appealed the team suggested the onus was upon me to prove I paid for a ticket and as I paid cash and could not prove this I must pay the fine. Really disappointed with the service and would advise anyone to avoid using this car park, or if you do use make sure you keep your ticket and a receipt for the purchase

Paid for a ticket and then got a letter through the door saying I didn’t pay! Sent proof of ticket and my appeal has been rejected! AVOID!!!

25.07.2021 Sunday 20:15 heading to Cornwall, stopped here to eat something. 2 machines doesnt work, only one another car was parked there, checked didnt have ticket too. Stayed 1hour, when im back home got PCN letter. Appealed they say u could pay via phone or app. Total scam avoid this company. Dont use scammers!!!

Typed in wrong reg but rang the number on the machine and sorted it out for me.

Rubbish company. Will avoid at all cost. My booking didnt go through the app aparently, even though my payment details were accepted and I got a time I am allowed to park to. Got a PCN which I now have to pay. First and last time using them

This car park is managed by a criminal operation called initial parking who's only aim is to trick you into making an error at the ticket machine so they can fine you avoid this car park at all costs you have been warned

will never park here again the machine didn't work properly for me, I entered my registration on the machine it only printed out part of my reg, I paid to park and returned in the correct amount of time and received a fine!!!

Absolutely disgusting, the car park owner complained about a mature horse chestnut tree on the northern perimeter and got it cut down. It had been there for donkeys years. If someone complained about conkers falling on their cars, like they have done for decades anyway, why not just close off 2-3 parking spaces and save the tree? Why not? Because it's more profitable to be an environmental terrorist . Absolutely disgusting.

we practically drove in and out of this car park as we could not get the machine to work having just read the bad reviews about this car park it all makes sense having just got a fine through the post I am not one to bad mouth but there is something not right about this car park I certainly will avoid and use a more reputable car park

Awful experience. Had a valid ticket and still got a PCN. Have rejected my appeal despite following process on signs. Complete scam. Don’t park here

OK, so following my post re the car park in Lowther Street, I have to say I am really impressed with the way my complaint has been dealt with. I contacted the landowner, who has now cancelled our fine with the lease company. Many of the very negative reviews online were down to the previous lease company Smart Parking. For this reason they have now moved to a new lease company-Initial Parking, and are keen to support anyone who feels they have been UNFAIRLY treated. My registration documents were away being updated with our new address at the time, so the timing of the initial fine letters going to our old address didn't help either. I am happy that the landowner is doing everything possible to encourage users to their car park

Parked here and paid for a ticket with cash on 14/9/19. Today 29/10/19 I have received a letter today from a debt recovery saying that I hadn’t paid for a ticket and have ignored the parking fine letter, they have accused me of putting in the wrong registration. I have never received a letter from them with a parking fine and with paying cash, I have no proof that I paid. When we have called them they were extremely rude and told us only option is to pay or go to court. Having read lots of reviews it seems this car park is notorious for doing this. I’m disgusted that we are being faced with pay £180 or go to court over a 1 hour parking stay that was paid for. Any advice from anyone? Thanks

My husband has received a fine for £170 from a collection agency on 22nd September for parking on10th June .This was the first we heard about it ...Very difficult to contact anyone to complain.My husband was abroad on the 10th June too .!!

I parked and paid. Two weeks later received Parking Charge Notice. Very glad the parking ticket was still in my car.Suspicious!!!

DO NOT USE, they have conned hundreds of people into paying fines scammers. Bet they don't sleep, disgusting.

Bought a ticket on my return to the car as I had no change and was told by the guy running it I could do this and now I have £100 fine think I may have gone 6 mins over my time sorting out ticket and leaving car park I paid for 4 hrs still got ticket

i have just received a penalty notice which i have no intention of paying.i have the ticket but want them to take me to court so they lose and have to pay all the court costs.they are scammers so they can have the publicity of it being reported in court as well

Don't use. Even though was back in time for ticket £100 charge as cameras entering and leaving said I was late. How can you instantly get ticket as you arrive there was a wait at the machine. Although good location won't use again as they obviously are trying to scam people out of money. Not fair to law abiding citizens. Horrible system.

Horrible system that will make you lose the trust on anything as it take advantage of you, even if you appeal the result is always on their favour. Shame on the people that run this company.

Myself and two family members have received parking charges of this company.Weve used this car park for many years with no issues but since the introductionof cameras will not be again. My wife was suppose to of been on 23hrs by smart parkings reckoning. AWFUL.

I have just got a parking fine i parked my car on 10/4/17 and got my ticket to show i payed but photo shows me entering car park and leaving im angry to get this as i paid and good job i keeo all my tickets in car never parking there again and it wont be getting paid .

watch out, if you pay over the phone they will send you £160 invoice few weeks later. scammers scammer scammers

Great Car park in a great position and very easy to use! didn't take me long to find a space and get into town. Compared to the lanes Car Park where i waited over 25 minutes to get in the place!!! would definitely use this car park every time especially since its the cheapest too!!!!

Do not use - Smart Parking is well known for scamming car park users - there have been several petitions against this company - they make their money by sending out parking charges in the hope that users will have disposed of tickets. Luckily we kept ours and avoided a £100 bill. You have been warned!
