I sincerely hope that in this festive season and times of austerity the parking team allow customers to have extended grace periods esp if they need to go to banks to sort out money problems and then do their shopping . 3hrs should be universal and standard rule. As waiting in queues is not nice And its even worse getting a fine when you are 30mins late. Please give more grace period to customers so they do not end up with mental health problems. Many thanks for being thoughtful.

Beware car owners i received a fine of £100 reduced to £50 if paid within 2 weeks even though I was shopping instore for leaving this car park at 11.12 pm if you are in this car park after 11pm you will get a fine I phoned Morrisons to complain I was fuming and managed to get the fine cancelled I spent nearly £90 in that shop half the self service checkouts were closed and I needed a trolley self service checkout there are only 2 and people with baskets we’re using them so I had to wait my turn people were still instore waiting to pay at the self service checkouts at 11pm Do they expect you to run out if In a queue to remove your car before the clock strikes 11pm ? There should be a grace period to allow people to leave disgusting way to treat loyal customers

Watch out – these rapacious twats will fine you if you enter the carpark after the store is shut – and so it’s impossible to enter your reg.

Parking in Manchester

Off-street (Commercial Car Parks)

Manchester City Council has a joint venture with NCP Car Parks for off-street parking (i.e. commercial car parks) and encourages visitors to use an NCP car park during their stay.

The following car parks usually fill up before 11am:

- King Street West
- Exchange
- M&S
- Market Place

The following car parks usually have space available:

- Arndale and Printworks (over 2200 space combined)
- Grand Hotel (5 mins walk to Piccadilly)

Three free Metroshuttle buses go past most of the car parks and around the city regularly so you can leave the car in the cheapest car park in the city centre for a long stay and don't need to move the car, although this does mean using public transport. Route map on the TfGM website.

On Street (Pay & Display)

On street parking (i.e. pay and display) in Manchester city centre is divided into hourly zones: one hour, two hour and three hour zones.

Further information can be found by clicking on the coloured zones on the map or by visiting Manchester County Council website.
