AVOID!!! I collected shopping (safely as I had Covid). A month later I received a parking fine even though I had spent over £200. Absolute scam and Asda should not be allowing it. I will never shop there again.
Parkingeye are a joke. Parked in the parent/disabled area at the side of asda, carried my 4 month old to the payment machine, the machine was out of service (so I took a picture), couldn't see another machine in eyesight, the machines are down so frequently I didnt think anything of it and went into the store. Weeks later I received a fine, which I appealed & sent them the pictures, and they just said that I should have found another way to pay. Not friendly or safe for parents or disabled people to use the payment machines, will not use asda again
I was parked there for 44 min with my disabled badge up and now got a parking fine of 70 quid come on the machines for tickets normally all covered up also im displaying my badge clearly in the front window how am I being charged this total rip of I take they don't want our business so now they won't get any
Have now started doing regular shop at Sainsbury's and Aldi. No ticket machines over my the parent parking, so you have to take babies over to the ticket machine and queue in all weathers for at least 15 mins, and that's on a reasonable day. There are only 2 machines in the car park and they are very slow. No option to pay online via app. You have to spend more than £10 to get your ticket refunded. So you can't even go in there to grab a loaf of bread etc. I've started shopping everywhere and anywhere else!
Not from the area but we went to Asda for our holiday food and luxury shopping and kids toys as we were staying at Finlake. The signage at Asda is extremely poor and almost deliberately poor to catch holiday makers. I won’t be returning to Asda anytime soon after receiving a fine for car parking while spending over £250 in the store!
Parked on 22 August. Paid 3.50 for parking. Still have ticket stating time was 4 mins after entering, and paid for 3 hours and left after 2 hours and 8 mins. I can be precise as they kindly sent me photos and times. But today a fine through the door. Can't call, I have to write a letter and post at my expense and time.
I have parked in Asda Newton abbot many times since 2021. I did not know it was a pay and display until a couple of weeks ago when I received a £70 fine. This is not well advertised.
AVOID! Scam carpark fleecing customers. I visited for the first time recently, drove past a sign saying max stay 3 hours, parked and shopped. A few days later received a parking ticket for £70. On calling Asda they tell me its a pay and display car park and customers have to pay, then they can get a refund if they follow strict rules and queue at customer service to request a refund. I called ASDA to see if there was anything they could do but they just said its been a pay and display for 18 years. This is not known to someone who isnt local, I bet so many honest customers get stung by this... horrible, I will now avoid this shop forever.
I am disabled I park in disabled space and put my badge in front window yet today I get a parking charge of £70 I don't understand it
Used it today 26/10/2022 as the two machines were not covered in yellow protective jackets indicating they were working, which is a rare event in itself. The two machines replace 4 coin-only machines and now allow payment by card and coins. There is usually a queue as there are no clear instructions on how to use the machines. I paid by coin, inserting a pound for one hours parking. The machine accepted my money but did not print out a receipt for me to reclaim the fee in the Asda store where I do my weekly shop. Instead it showed a message saying I could pay by card. The people in the Asda customer services said the machines don't print out a receipt while the person at the scan and go checkout showed me a receipt and deducted the charge from my payment. Help!
Still only takes cash (coins) in 2021. You have to go to the cash machine, go in store and buy something to get change, then you can buy a ticket you can't redeem because you haven't spent enough.
shopped in Asda 2 days ago and put film in for development for collection today. Handed in refund voucher but this was refused because I hadn't spent £10. Disgusted. Well Asda I won't be back! Hello Lidl and Tesco.
