Meters did not recognise number plate no answer on help button. One barrier coned off so went to left which was open. Thinking this was due to the fault . As drove through photo taken. So now worried about a fine. This was not a deliberate non payment and was the fault if the system not working.

I have visited this car park on several occasions and each time the pay machine did not read my disabled badge after repeated attempts to contact "assistance" I was told to proceed to the gate at the gate the assisance button was not working I had to reverse against the flow of traffic to go to the next machine .Absolute joke shan't go there again but that probably won't make a blind bit of difference to this abysmal company

Visited today on the 1st to meet family and do a bit of shopping. My first and last time ever using this carpark, took 50 mins to get to the barrier due to terrible layout and everyone gridlocking themselves. The pay at barrier was a total joke, barrier stuck up and not picking up my reg to pay my 2 pound. I eventually just drove off as there were many cars behind me and attempted to contact customer services who didn’t even answer the phone. Will not be impressed if I am fined!

Paid contact less snd appeared to accept payment, sadly did not ask for a recipe. When got to barrier it would not open sp spoke to very helpful attendant who enabled us to exit.

Friday 14th April 2023. AS many of the other reviews. Queued and then our Registration in. Not recognised. Tried again without success. pressed for help on intercom , no answer, Queue behind getting longer. went back to car to check registration as only purchased in last 2 weeks and may have got it wrong. No it was ok so went back and queued to a different machine. again registration not recognised, again pressed intercom to speak to someone, but no answer. went to car and drove to barrier. As in many other cases the barrier lifted as though I had paid. There is obviously a problem with the system. I have now been holding for 20 minutes to talk to Swindon Borough Council as I wish to pay the £2 owed and I advise them of the problem but no answer so have hung up the call

Same as many other reviews. I chose to take the option of paying by contactless card at the barrier, but it opened as soon as I arrived at the barrier. I then tried to pay by card, but it didn't seem to register it, and the barrier remained open. In the end, I went through the barrier and parked up to try to pay at the machines. The machines did not recognise my number plate, and I was unable to pay by that method either. Because i am anxious not to get an unwarranted fine, I would normally have gone back into the Designer Outlet and requested assistance, but was in a rush to make a hospital appointment. The system is absolutely ridiculous. If I receive a fine, I will absolutely challenge it: but I would hope/assume that given the barrier lifted for me that the system, for whatever reason, thought my balance covered.

Visited to day very busy.Very angry at three foreign men standing in a parking space preventing any one parking it and threatening me and my sister when I ask them to move. Will not be going back in a hurry. No security any where in site.

Visited this afternoon. Machine would not accept my car registration. Unable to pay but barrier lifted when I approached.

How do you pay with a pound coin only way to pay for most people with no other ways to pay

Same experience as others ... Ticket machines wouldn't accept my correct car reg so I couldn't pay. No help was available. I could see in the distance that the barrier was up, so thought perhaps it was a 'free' parking day. However, when I got to the barrier (which was up permanently) the machine there said to pay £1. As I had been unable to pay, there was no help available and the barrier was up, I had no choice but to drive out. If I get a fine I shall be absolutely fuming and will be contesting it. Absolutely ridiculous system. Get it sorted.

Tried to pay today at barrier it said £1.00 fee but the barrier was up! Huge queue behind me was hammering with rain two kids in the car and tried to call assistance with no answer had no choice but to drive through. Tried to call guest services when I got home and no answer so left a message to pay. I’ll be contesting any fines should I get one. kim

Unable to pay when we left the car park. Fee said £1.00 but there was no way to pay it.

Attempted to pay at barrier but the barrier simply opened. I called assistance who said simply leave. I then phoned the outlet reception team who said ‘don’t worry you won’t be charged’. I’m happy to pay the £1 but will be extremely unhappy if I am fined.

entered car reg in 3 times. Each time stated 'not recognised'. Called for assistance, he said to go straight to barrier and pay contactless. I stated i dont have that activated on my card. He said go ahead to barrier. Barrier was open, didnt want to drive straight through. Called assistance twice. No answer. Queue behind. Drove through the open barrier. Ridiculous unfit system for just a £1 Wont be returning to this shopping centre

Unable to pay when we left the car park. Fee said £1.00 but there was no way to pay it. Barriers were open anyway so we came out, but I went to machine to pay, which kept saying you still have 26 minutes to leave, without giving an option to pay. I am assuming that it was free???. Will find it out, if we get a fine later on and will have to appeal it. I have no objection to paying for parking but the system needs to work.

Unable to pay when we left the car park. Fee said £1.00 but there was no way to pay it. Barriers were open anyway so we just left. Will no doubt find out if we get a fine later on and will need to waste time appealing it. I have no objection to paying for parking but the system needs to work.

Paid twice today, first when I came in and then when I was going out because the system did not recognise my number plate. The ticketless parking is not a bad idea, but the system is not working very well at the moment. The fact that it is possible to pay on the way out, provides some consolation, otherwise what happens to the cars queueing to get out?

Apr 12, 2022

Absolute joke waiting to pay for parking as stupidly got to the front and the machine didn’t recognise my number plate!! Went to the car to see if there was another way to pay no app or phone option, Walked pack to pay and waited another 40 minutes in the rain!!

Apr 7, 2022

The most ridiculous process, how can you expect people to remember their car registration number, particularly older people who have memory problems or people who aren't using their own cars. who ever thought of this should be FIRED!!! the queue today at 15:00 was around 30 people that says it all, thank god it wasn't a Saturday...

Apr 4, 2022

Ridiculous new ticketless system with no option to pay by cash, even for a £1.00 - crazy situation

Dec 22, 2021

Huge queues to pay for parking at the outlet after a booster jab. When are you going to provide more ticket machines or at least keep them working ?

Parking In Swindon

Parking for People with Disabilities

Parking for people with disabilities is free in Swindon except in the Brunel North, Brunel West and Fleming Way car parks (where the tariff is the same as for other customers) and most car parks have designated spaces for this group of people.

When parked, valid disabled badges must be on display at all times and there is no limit on the length of stay.

Swindon also has its own Shopmobility car park, on the ground floor of the Wyvern Car Park. This has up to 26 dedicated bays for Shopmobility users (during open hours only) and eight dedicated Blue Badge Bays available.
