26/8/24: Really upset, I noticed what I thought was a flyer on my windscreen while I was driving on the dual carriageway. The ticket was flapping in the wind and I realised it was a parking ticket. The ticket blew off in the wind. I only attended M&S for returns after a hospital appointment. I have tried to contact someone to speak to but ended up speaking to someone at Matalan who couldn’t help. Please can someone give a contact who I can speak to. I am a carer for my husband and really worried about the fine. I don’t want to incur any more charges as I don’t have the ticket. Please respond ??
It's obvious from the signs that you need to display a ticket for the two hours free parking. Read the signs like you would anyplace else. It's not rocket science. This car park could do with more supervisors to ensure parent and child spaces and spaces for disabled people are not misused.
Entering a car park yesterday I saw no ticket machines and am now told the machine only take cash , we are not in a cash free society?????
Very poorly sign posted, not clear that you need to get a ticket for the free parking. Will not use these shops again.
Visitor to Dundee and visited Gallagher retail park . I saw free parking for Two hours and proceeded to park my car unaware I had to display a ticket. Like many people on this chat the ticket had been stuffed under the bonnet of my car and only recovered by mechanic when my car was in for repair weeks later voiding any chance of appeal. My stay in the car park was 40min approximitly. It is my full intention to have my day in court and use these testimonials as evidence this company are ripping off innocent drivers who think they are adhering to the rules. Shame on you .
Just recieved parking ticket through post for £100 I thought was free for two hours never recieved first ticket straight £100 tried to contact them no reply surprise surprise will not be back expensive 10 minute parking . This company should be ashamed in this day and age who has that sort of money to pay out for parking . Totally disgusting. I would see the point if I was there all day . After all sign does say free for two hours . Money con if ever there was one. Will defo not be back
Like others I'd give this no stars. Parked for approx 30 mins on 27 Dec. Saw signs that said free for 2 hours. 5 weeks later I get a letter in the post (no ticket on my car) to say I have an outstanding balance of £100. Free means no payment, so why would I look to 'purchase' a ticket. Purchase means to use money to buy.....
New to Dundee and first time in this car park On driving in all I could see was FREE parking for 2 hours and stupidly, did not read all the text on the sign advising to display a ticket. After visiting other carparks in the area, parking charges had been suspended and ticket machines covered. Do not be caught out by the sneaky small print! Who can afford to be ripped off in such an underhand way in this climate. Yes, on closer inspection, the signs do say display ticket - this should be in the same size text and as clearly visible as 2 HOURS FREE PARKING.
0 stars - if it gave the option. Free parking for 2 hours - but only if you spot the small print of needing to display a 'free for 2 hours' ticket, even then, you need to rake around to find a machine. I got a ticket for parking for 10 mins - it was hidden under the blades and was missed until after I'd left. Absolute con and I'll not be back.
Visited the retail park today picked a child space as I have a 5 week old child. Some guys sweeping leaves from the space refused to move, just stood in the space and when I said I needed the space his reply was ‘there are plenty other spaces in the car park’. His attitude and manner was horrendous sweeping leaves on a windy day seems a rather pointless waste of time and to refuse to move out the way when I tried to drive in is truly shocking.
Beware! Even after 6pm in the evening (when on street parking is free - even in the centre of Edinburgh - you need to display a ticket on your car) there will be a sneaky car park attendant lurking in the empty car park just waiting for unsuspecting prey. I parked at 18.38 and left at 19.01 according to my on board Peugeot computer. During that time i went to M&S and I returned briefly to the car to get a carrier bag. No parking attendant in sight. I was issued with a ticket at 18.53. It wasn’t visible on the windscreen and it wasn’t until it rained on my homeward journey to Fife that the windscreen wiper dislodged it and I had to stop and retrieve it (or I would never have known I had received a ticket). I knew a ticket was required to be displayed for free two hours parking but nowhere did it say this was applicable 24 hours. I naively assumed it was the same as on street parking and other non barrier parking. I wish to give zero stars to this car park and also to the shops in Gallagher permitting this.
Parked my car minutes before 6pm. Didn't think I needed a free ticket for 2hrs because the stores would be closed within the 2hr window. We're there 30min . They must have been watching me got a ticket at exactly 6pm. Initially £50 then went up eventually to £170. Extortion pure and simple. Stop shopping there.
Please do not park here. This company (Euro Car Parks) do not deserve to be funded. Parking fine for £100 (no first warning!) came through the post. The company do not answer their emails nor is there a number to call. They are a disgusting company that needs shut down. Any private land owner using this company should be ashamed of themselves.
We went into this retail park to spend money in the shops which we did and came out to find a parking ticket on my windscreen, apparently for not displaying a 2hr free ticket. The signs are full of writing and if you miss the "display a ticket bit" and just assume the two hours are free then they stick a parking fine (£100 or £60 if you pay within 14days on your windscreen). The retailers including TK Max and Matalan should sort this out, it is completely unacceptable behaviour by the parking company and probably close to being illegal behaviour. Disgusting to say the least.
You need a ticket even for the free parking. The biggest downside is it is coins only if you wish to park beyond the two hours. There is no onsite office for assistance. Spaces are extremely narrow most small city cars still need to double park. The two way system should work but it doesn't due to longer saloons sticking out, a one way system would be more beneficial. The parking meters only accepting cash is outdated as is their distance from the majority of spaces.
A £100 fine for 2 hours free parking… we were there 40mins but didn’t realise we had to put a ticket on for the free part!!!
I would give it no stars if I could. Avoid at all costs. Aye £100 fir 20 mins parking as the guy didn’t see my ticket & Now iv thrown it away because I didn’t see the parking charge until I had driven away. The guy squashed it under my wiper & I didn’t see it until Much later. Absolute joke.
Shocking absolutely shocking only in for 50 mins and came back to the car with a ticket on it stating we have not displayed as ticket to park for the free 2 hours …I must say this needs to be sorted out by Dundee city council as to why the retail park owners allow this as they might as well shut the shops down as no one will put up with this any longer
Shocking place - did not make it clear that you needed a ticket - just been fined £100 for less than 1 hour parking. I will not use this retail park to shop ever again. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. That is more than half my weekly budget for shopping gone and we simply can not afford that.
Ticket machine no paper for ticket, 10 mins later yellow ticket on my window.. sort out a better system if you’re gonna charge for free parking Euro Car Park!!
Absolutely ridiculous system, no ticket on the car, didn’t realise there are two hours free were only with a ticket from the machine, machines few and far between in a giant parking lot, so who would accidentally walk my one and read it? Have seen a number of other people getting large tickets for the same thing, I just got £100 ticket in the mail which I intend to contest. This is so absurd that I can’t believe I even have to write a review about it, common criminals these guys
terrible, there for 10 mins and fined - first 2 hrs free, didn't realise you needed a ticket in that time, AVID - a con!
Disgrace, parking fine for staying less than an hour, pay and display not clearly identified, where’s the barrier on entry to issue the pay and display tickets, this after all is the 21 century! To retainers won’t be back to this retail park, they issue parking fines faster than Client Eastwood draw his colt 45!! Absolutely disgraceful!! Why our legal system allows this is also a complete disgrace!!!
Avoid at all costs.Free car for two hours. Only there an hour. Now taking me to court for not displaying free ticket.
Tickets machines unusable and unmonitored for 3 years and now without any warning issuing parking fines for not having one!
Bad
Always loads of disabled spaces available that not allowed to park in and never any other spaces available! When a space does become available they are too tight to get parked. Spaces too small and likely to get your car bashed!
Spaces far too tight! Clearly not enough parent and child bays as I didn't even know there were any as they must all be taken. Use this car park at least 5 times a month and never seen one free. Always plenty disabled bays free though. I struggle to get myself out of my car let alone my son in his car seat.
Not enough parent and child spaces. Always free disabled spaces. Tight parking.
Woeful parking - no signs for directions or anything for that matter
Car parking spaces very tight. Could not open door enough to get out. Heavily pregnant. Had to park further away. Struggling too walk, in the rain. To return item to mothercare. Plenty disabled spaces. How am I ment to open door wide enough for a car seat. Not enough parent and child parking
Got space no problem could not get door open wide enough to get out ! Tight spaces! Not enough parent and baby spaces
