Have used previously without issue however had a large group of teenagers obstruct me leaving, jumping out in front/behind car, opening car doors, basically trying to get me out of car with keys in. Not safe place to park.

Excellent car park. We use the free after 5pm facility lots and we've left the car overnight too - no problems. The access is tight but we've got an SUV and have had no issues.

Handy location and reasonably priced, BUT... The lower levels are all reserved parking and loads of them are empty. The access tunnels are far too narrow and have kerbs whose raison d'etre is to damage your alloys if you have a family size car.

Great car park for small cars but I have damaged my alloys on the way out due to the badly designed exit ramp. It would be perfect if they removed the kerbs. Very safe car park though

Aug 29, 2018

Ecco the above comments. The exit ramp makes this car park almost unusable for a large car. If they removed the curbs on the exit bend on both sides it would make negotiation of the bend less costly!

Brilliant - use the 'Free after 5' malarky loads. Ignore those complaining about the entrance and exit ramps - it is tight but really? They need to get some driving lessons!

May 10, 2018

The car park is perfect if you have a small car to navigate the exit ramp, I have used a larger car in there before and it is very tricky to navigate. Otherwise, it is always clean, reasonably priced and safe, I have left my car there for long periods of time with no trouble.

Feb 25, 2018

Entrance and exit ramps horrendous just wrecked our tyre on the exit. Such a cramped car park we didn't even try to park just came straight out. Eldon gardens for us.

Feb 18, 2016

Very useful car park, close to the city centre, central station and chinatown. Do not use it if you have a SUV or a long car.

Oct 12, 2015

Excellent car park if it weren't the the exit ramp. The high kerbs are ridiculous for long cars, already trashed a few alloy wheels. Would be a top car park if it weren't for the poor exit making it unusable for bigger vehicles

May 22, 2015

Good location and free after 5pm but the entry and exit ramps are ridiculous. Very narrow and unsighted with very high curbs. Definately not for the faint hearted or owners of SUV's etc. You won't just curb your alloys in this car park, you'll curb your door mirrors!!!

Dec 22, 2014

Dont park here if you have a long 4x4 (Q7, Range etc), the high concrete channel on the exit ramp has a bend that is impossible to get round without curbing.

Nov 25, 2012

I park here to go on coach trips from Bewick Street. Nice to know my car will be there on my return.

Sep 28, 2011

Tight drive in and out. Left my car for 5 days, twice, no problems.

Aug 2, 2010

Good value and well run. The entrance/exit ramps are not for the faint hearted however - care required with large vehicles such as 4x4

Feb 15, 2010

This is the only car park I use in Newcastle. Very reasonable rates, and very convenient for Centre for Life, Discovery Museum and Chinatown.

Feb 9, 2010

Good rates, especially all day deal. Not too far to walk for shops and very near Central Railway Station. A bit isolated and not sure if I would want to return to my car on my own at night. Otherwise great location and 24hr security. Well done Newcastle Council
