I've used these JR hospital car parks numerous times. There is a ludicrous fault with the system whereby the pay station robot says it does not recognise your number plate. The system then tries to suggest alternative number plate numbers - a kind of "these are the numbers you could have had" type thing. Now I'm used to the absurdity of the system, I can help others who I find sobbing at the pay station. The way round when it suggests does the thing where it suggests numbers that aren't yours, is the press 'back' which takes you back to the number you entered and at that point you press 'accept'. As far as I can see it does this to everyone. But no car park should have such an useless and absurd system. Let alone in a hospital where there are stressed people.

Terrible, terrible, terrible!!! Lucky I got there early as I was driving around for over 30 minutes looking for a space as more and more cars came in looking too, my son had an appointment at the children's hospital and we were late because of it!!! I finally parked in a spot, which a car had just come out of, and I got fined!! Bearing in mind cars were parked everywhere and anywhere, it seems I was the only one to get a fine. I personally think the whole experience is terrible and fining people for a clearly severe LACK OF CAR PARKING is unethical and wrong!!! Perhaps instead of sending in people to fine you they should send in some car park support to help guide you to spaces/ inform you that the car park is full!!!!

Disgraceful cars abandoned blocking the car parks ,anpr does recognise number plate when I tried to pay so I took photo of that in that case if my number does not exist I can't get ticket and and hour later to find a space after dropping a child at a,&e shocking even staff can't park

ANPR system couldn't find my number plate, making payment very complicated. SIP technology seems to be totally inadequate.

I’m sick of the parking at the JR. It’s impossible and stressful. The ANPR never recognises my number plate and makes it impossible to pay. I’ve had five fines and the disgusting company that run the car parks are just cowboys ripping people off. It’s about time the parking was sorted out. I hate going to any of the Oxford hospitals.

Run by SIP car parks contracted out by OUH. Avoid parking here at all costs. Few spaces and terrible support. Machines were broken so I couldn’t pay, no signage but eventually tried to contact SIP and we 3 hours to go they said I had 24 hours from parking to pay. As soon as I saw the email I tried to pay but it was too late. Everyone from SIP refused to discuss with me and they became intimidating and threatening. They also said they don’t have a management structure so the company sounds unethical. I’m very pregnant and genuinely, the stress over this has made me fear for my baby. I’m sure this has happened to countless others.

Awful. At the very least they should have a system that only lets people in when there is a space free so you aren’t racing other drivers to a suddenly open space. I’m heavily pregnant and in a lot of discomfort so I’m not in a position to get public transport now, and sometimes have to go to appointments by myself. Allowing even an hour to park isn’t even enough and is hard work and stressful when you are pregnant. They need to address this issue urgently and have priority parking for those that need it. I’m so worried my husband won’t be able to join me when I give birth.

What a total shambles. Parking experience at this hospital leaves me feeling beyond stressed. Over the years, parking has gone from bad to worse

May 12, 2022

The scanner for disabled parking was so temperamental that it took several visitors and three quarters of an hour to successfully scan the Blue Badge.

Apr 22, 2022

It's a total shambles, you can be there for ages trying to park and it's made more frustrating by the fact that you can be waiting for so long then another car arrives and grabs a spot straight away it's totally disgusting having to visit this shambles of a hospital

Apr 17, 2022

Totally insufficient parking for the size of hospital. Came in to give birth to my stillborn daughter and husband was unable to park the car so I had to go in alone and wait for him to join me later. Dreadful experience and added significant trauma to an already devastating day.

I am blue badge holder and have been given 3 £50 fines even though I displayed the blue badge prominently on the front windscreen,There was NO obvious indication signs to say the system was new,I am disgusted that being disabled is being is NOT being recognised and being given fines totalling £150 and the psychological effect on my health it has made is scandalous, the JR parking system is a complete mess and affecting mentally every bodies health,I am astonished how the JRs executive have allowed this parking situation to detract from an already disabled and sick people to continue.

What a mess do the authorities not understand that people travel into this hospital by car? There is not enough parking here at all I would avoid it if I could. It is a messy and uncared for car park. It is frustrating for ill people to deal with

Dreadful

I wouldn’t give it any stars awful experience my husband has mobility problems ,it was total chaos ,cars riding around and around ,this surely isn’t safe needs urgent attention

Nov 16, 2021

Appalling. Absolute chaos now that barriers have been removed and ANPR installed. Cars just abandoned anywhere. Regular user of the car park for my husband who has sight and mobility problems and needs me as his carer. Had to abandon him to go in on his own today as nowhere to park. We live 20 miles away and public transport is not an option.

This is a rip off: the number plate recognition system marks the start of your parking from when you first enter one of the car parks: as usual, it took us 25 minutes, driving round four different car parks, to find a spot... so we ended up being charged for all of that time!

What a chaos! Terrible terrible place and parking lot what a disaster is this place. The traffic was half mile long just to get the gate. Sad story !
