We had exactly the same problem in 2018, receiving a fine ticket even though we paid on the park metre. Fortunately we paid by card, so we had the evidence to appeal and got the ticket cancelled. But I do not understand why they still do this after 1 year.

If you have to park here please pay by card and get a receipt. We made the mistake of paying by cash (you type your reg into the machine and it tells you how much to pay) only to get a parking ticket for £80 for non payment a few weeks later. Although we have paid we have no proof so can’t appeal and have to pay.
