Quite expensive, if you only want to stay for a hour or so, could pay by the hour it wouldn't be so bad. Not many disabled places.

Absolute rip off car parking charges and you need to pay in coins £12 for anything over 3 hours, shame on you greedy guts private owner!! It’s such a shame as Polperro is a beautiful place but the extortionate car parking charges leave you feeling ripped off and will inevitably put off visitors and many local businesses will loose out.

Disgusting prices!! £7 to park for 3 hours!! Cash only which let’s face it who carries cash these days. I appreciate that the owner wants to make money off their land but seriously not even Newquay is that expensive. Should be ashamed!! Won’t be returning and by looks of it nor will many others! Just pure greed!

Would never return absolutely disgusting price to Park and even more as we are a small vw camper . Cash only really do they expect people to have that much cash in coins !!!!!! Also no toilets in car park you have to pay 50p to use the ones down the road . Definitely not worth going

BnBs, hotels etc should not have to buy parking permits from local one and only carpark, disgraceful the carpark owner doesn't work in alliance with locals in the town, is there a farmer nearby who could come to some arrangement with town and develop new parking,

Was planning to spend the day in poppers today, was in Looe yesterday and St Austel the day before, but the reviews here and need to have cash to pay for parking and toilets just put me off. Sorry Polperro, you are a beautiful town which I have visited previously years ago but not going to be ripped off or inconvenienced like this.

Car park charges seem to have increased this year, now £7 for 3 hours and £12 for 6 hours. Still cash only and you have to use £1 coins. Absolute rip off and won’t be back anytime soon. Oh and don’t forget your 50p coins as you will need these to use the toilets.

Visited Feb 2024. Took the right cash thanks to these reviews. £6 for 3 hours is still the lowest amount you can pay and 3 hours is much more than I needed. There was a sign saying change available but none given at the machine. No card payments available but I did hear someone in the shop asking for help with cash.

As a Cornwall resident, may I just warn would-be parkers never to rely on being able to use a parking app in Cornwall. Carparks are often full of people waving their mobiles in the air in vain. In many coastal locations, there is the option to use an app, but absolutely no signal, especially Polperro.

Turned up today and was gobsmacked at the prices, we planned for a tour of the town followed by a walk to the nxt town at 6miles there 6 back we'd have needed to pay £12 for the parking.. What a joke, who carries £12 in coins.. Surely they would be better off to say "No tourists" won't ever try and go back that it's a joke!

Expensive. Coins only. I spoke to a local who said it was privately owned. A great way for the owner to avoid paying tax.

Car park prices are extortionate and cash only in this day and age doesn’t seem right. Disabled car parking spaces are far too tight so we gave up and went to Looe. Would have loved to visit the shops and businesses in Polperro but won’t be back. Have a feeling visitors aren’t welcome. Tried to visit here twice, hoping things may have changed. My husband, as an ex coach driver would not recommend Polperro as a place to visit

Who carries that sort of cash on them ??? The fact you can’t pay by card or phone app is pathetic. No wonder the place is always deserted

Absolutely appalling! From the charges to the size of car park spaces! If you are going to charge that much, then at least put some basic amenities in like toilets! Felt very ripped off Nd wonder whether they want visitors to Polperro!

Plenty of space for our VW transporter. We didn’t mind having to pay the £6 as Polperro is lovely and 100% worth it, but it’s a shame it’s cash only - who has £6 in cash/coins on them these days? Please upgrade the machines and you might have a few more visitors! Unless you only want cash so that it can’t be traced???

Wanted to visit Polperro on our last day in Cornwall. Plenty of spaces but ended up leaving and going to Looe due to having no cash on us (not enough to pay the extortionate fee anyway!). In this day and age payment via card/app would be expected by many visitors. Such a shame.

I have never met such a rude car park attendant in all my life!! I said to him politely, are all the machines cash only, to which he replied 'correct' and said 'didn't you hear me tell the bloke over there!!' to which I said no sorry I didn't I asked him where can I obtain cash from!! He said " don't you read signs !! At the change station!! I tried to explain I did not have cash only card to which he bluntly said , you'll have to go to the post office and get cash!!. As for all carparks in Cornwall are cash !! they are not we paid by card in Looe !

Didn’t have enough cash so asked the man in the booth. I told him I was in the disabled space which I might add is the same width as the normal car spaces. He told me to go to the post office as the might give me cash! and I should know all car parks in Cornwall are cash only!!! I asked how far the post office was as I have limited walking and we had only stopped to eat lunch at the pub/restaurant across from the car park. He told me if I couldn’t walk to the post office then “clearly Cornwall was not for me” absolutely disgusting, so Cornwall are opposed to disabled people. The company who own this car park are disrespectful, uncaring and down right disgraceful and above all discriminating against those who are less able to get around. The local businesses need to get together with the council and try to sort this. We left so didn’t spend any money with the locals which I’m sure they need

Nobody carry’s cash these day. Use a app or card payment it’s very frustrating when you have to find a cash point and then get change. Plenty of disabled spaces tho

Any parking tickets from this private car park are unenforceable! They do not have any enforceable Terms and Conditions displayed. They don't appear to be a member of an Accredited Trade Association. Being a member of an Accredited Trade Association allows the Parking Company to apply to the DVLA for the Registered Keepers details to follow up on private fines through the small claims court. They can't clamp or immobilise because that is a criminal offence (Protection of Freedoms Act 2012).

I drive a small motorhome & travel all over the country sea dipping. I absolutely love the sea pool at Polperro, but these EXTORTIONATE car park prices (£12 minimum) have made me not want to come again. Such a shame for the community

Only place to park in Polperro, cars are £6 for up to 3 hours but campervan are a whopping £12. Absolute rip off. Sorry Polperro shops and food establishments we drove straight out again.

Very over priced at £6 compared to other places in Cornwall , I’m sure the businesses in polperro are losing money due to people staying away , apparently privately owned very greedy.

I don’t mind the price as much as the fact that you need to feed 40 £1 coins into the machine. Every time I got to the last coin, it cancelled and spat out all my money. Luckily it was out of season so nobody was waiting behind me. In the end I gave up and went elsewhere. Get with the times and allow people to pay with their phone or a credit card.

This car park and who owns it is a joke I live local and would never go to the shops or bars or restaurant in the town because of the parking shame for the business owners they must be losing lots of money.

Greedy - that's the only way to describe the car charges. I paid £6 for an hour. Had I stayed for 3 hours plus I would have been charged £10. Went for lunch and a walk on the beach but wasn't prepared to pay £10 parking for the privilege so polperro restaurants lost out as we moved on.

Day light robbery! Cash only, change machines out of order. Inconvenient on all levels.

Appalling price, as a mobility scooter user ( not from choice) the laughable area marked disabled is woefully unsuitable. We bring our visitors to polperro throughout the year but today is the last time. I feel for the traders especially in hard times but they are in the best position to lobby the council for change. Had no cash and couldn’t access ATM as post office closed (Bank Holiday). Left Polperro before I had the chance to spend any money in the village as nearest cash machine was miles away.

Most expensive parking so far, and no option to pay with anything but cash. Feel so sorry for the businesses in Polperro, but this is going to take much needed revenue away from the area.

Appalling prices £6.00 for 3 hours. Im afraid we and many more will be giving it a miss. How sad, it will ruin the little village and their businesses as most people won't go.

The so called disabled spaces do not have areas at the side to open the door. This means that anybody with a mobility problem can not park there. Even if they do, they have to walk a long way up a slope to the machine. With all the other comments regarding this car park, the traders are probably loosing millions in trade.

No zero stars option ? I drove through the entrance in order to see the table of charges. Once I had, I decided against parking my car and drove out and on with my journey. A shame as we'd followed the road for many miles. Returning home I noticed to my astonishment on my online bank statement that I'd been charged £20 ! BEWARE of this scam. I'm in the process of seeking a refund/speaking to the council/MP.

Refuse to go to Polperro. Car Park owner is cashing in on his/her monopoly. Rip off.

Our only problem was the cash issue! Especially after being to to use a card for so long. Please update it to take card!

Plenty of space not sure what Mr passat is on. My car is bigger than that and when parked properly loads of space at sides and back and front! £5 is fine even for a few hours.... you can all stay away if you want, leave beautiful Polperro for the ones who appreciate it...

Not sure what you are all on about! 5 pound is reasonable. £40 for a whole week is fine. I drive a range rover and fits in the lines fine so not sure what Mr passatt is on. You can all stay away and leave the place for people who apriciate it....

Polperro is stunningly beautiful and is one of our favourite places to visit! However, there is an extremely high price to park. Especially when compared to nearby places, such as Looe. Worst of all you can only pay with cash and it has to be coins! They do have change machines but they were empty when we visited! At the very least they need to upgrade to allow payment by card/app and reduce the price of parking to something much more reasonable.

Obviously don’t want visitors to their town (which admittedly is lovely) so they have made the car park far too expensive and way to tight!

£5 minimum not in this lifetime held to ransome even if you fancy a pint in the pub nearby. You can keep Polperro

When I visited ( June 2021) I was amazed that the machines were cash only. Hopeless situation as we move closer and closer to a cashless society

Small cramped car parking, if you try to park a VW Passat you'll have both sides of your wheels on both white lines, as will the even larger SUVs around you. Expensive, £5 for three hours, plus cash only, useful in cashless times alongside no cash points within 20 mins drive. Then this is followed by a very long walk, difficult with older family members. Expect dings to your car. Park at the edge or take over a few spaces. Go to Looe or Polruan instead, it's just as nice and parking is around £1.50 for two hours in my experience.

Extortionate (£5 minimum) and you can only buy parking with cash. Catch up with the rest of the world please and have machines that take cards or the ability to use apps.

Disgusting price for parking as no other choice for parking so you are held to ransom puts us off from going to a very quaint fishing village
