Positives: Pricing OK at £8 for 24hrs and very convenient for V&A hotel (£16 to park on-site if you can find a space!). Negatives: Very poor maintenance & lighting. Not sure if any security patrols, none seen. Gathering of moped riders in one dark corner, made an effort to be polite when I walked through them to V&A hotel though LOL! Car park pitch black at night, lighting poles either not working or switched off? Recommend the nervous try to park as close to the entrance/exit areas if possible. Had to operate ticket machine by light of mobile phone aka 'mug me beacon' at night as no illumination around machines either. Needs investment to improve, could be better.

Hopeless for security. Plagued by gangs of skateboarding youths in the afternoon who are abusive, collide with vehicles and block off part of the parking area so you can't get out - not safe unless you don't mind your car scratched or bombed by these mindless idiots who turn the place into skate park when it's supposed to be a car park.

This car park seemed OK in the day, but as soon as it is dark, it is dangerous. It is not well illuminated, not well covered by CCTV and the barrier is not working so it is easy to get in and out.
On Friday 28th Feb 2014 at approximately 19:20, there was a reported mugging at knife point where the victim lost his car, wallet and personal belongings including computer equipment.
Car parks should be forced to adhere to a certain level of safety if they are to charge for public use!

Better priced than other NCP car parks in the area and very well placed for the local businesses. However, it's not covered and sometimes has dodgy characters hanging around selling used tickets but there are cameras around.
Also, sometimes the card machine doesn't work. Apparently this is a regular occurrence coz it's solar powered - in Manchester! Try wiping the solar panel and trying again. If it still doesn't work, give the careline a call (number above machine) and someone will be around, usually within a few minutes.
