Arrived at car park Monday morning purchased parking ticket before catching train to London for work upon returning on the Thursday evening I had a parking ticket on my car as you are only allowed to park for 72 hours this is a disgrace something has to be done about this how can I plan future trips if I am going to receive a parking charge every time I don't have time at 7.30am on a cold winters morning to look for alternative parking get a grip Northumberland Council

When we arrived at the car park on Sunday, July 23, 2017, one of the pay and display machines was inoperable and covered in yellow plastic while the only other pay and display machine could not accept credit cards for payment. Since we were leaving the car for nine days I did not have 31.50 in coins on me. The snack bar was closed and only after pleading with a newsagent on the high street to change my paper money was I able to obtain my parking ticket. It was pure luck that we were early enough for me to walk to the high street and get change or we would have faced a 70 pound fine. The council needs to ensure that all payment options are available all the time.

Great car park if you arrive before the working day begins but DO NOT rely on a space being available if catching a train from 9.00 am onwards. Station staff advise that the only option when full is the long stay car park in town, 10 minutes away. Signs here advise that only one days parking maximum is permitted so useless alternative if planning to leave your car overnight.. Northumberland County Council need to get their act together to resolve this situation or at least provide warnings that the car park is likely to be full by mid morning. Get a lift or catch a bus if you want to avoid pushing your stress levels through the roof!!
