Do not use this car park. It's obviously a hot spot for crime. They break your back windows, steal your cases and then they're off. This happened to us and then I read the reviews. NCP must be aware it's a problem but don't care. The call button doesn't work when pressed. Please, please don't use this car park.

This is not a safe or secured car park. It's obviously now a target for West End crime. Windows smashed, bags stolen. Avoid.

Sep 24, 2023

Avoid using this car park, the pedestrian gate is insecure and the car park is unmanned. Unfortunately we used this car park without prior knowledge of the previous security issues. We returned to find the rear window smashed and possessions taken. The helpline were available via the intercom, but they weren’t of any use.

May 29, 2023

May as well say goodbye to your car and all its possessions. NCP shouldn’t be allowed to even suggest it is secure.

DO NOT USE! Had our side window smashed in and items stolen. It is not Secure anyone can walk in and out. You used to have to enter code when going in or out, but now anyone can enter

Do not use this car park! Mine and several other cars have been broken into today. It is neither secure or manned. When I called the helpline they could not care less but told me to make sure I paid for extra time in the car park whilst waiting for autoglass!

Apr 13, 2022

Used to be a manned secure car park. Obviously to save paying anyone it is now unmanned and not secure. The consquence is cars now get broken in to. See previous reviews. Also when the machine does not issue a receipt as requested you spend a day trying to get through to the helpline to get one. Normal cost cutting rubbish.

Beware !! I was one of 6 cars that had the back windows broken at lunchtime Saturday. After speaking with staff they are averaging 4 or 5 per day at the moment. The security gate is broken.

I think maybe after the Japanese company took over the NCP business all goes downhill. Parked the car in later September near the entrance overnight. Next day evening when I got back, rear door and rear glasses all got smashed. There is no staff on site and customer service just says they are not responsible for the personal belongings loss. Police saying there is no CCTV. I will never use NCP ever again. !!!

Would never use again, I had my back window smashed and the boot broken into. Car park is not secure although it claims that it is, the entrance is left open with a notice which states that the intercom is not working! No one is manning the car park and I could not get any reply from the helpline. When I eventually got through they just said that vehicles are left at owners risk, very unhelpful!!! After looking at google reviews noticed that many others had also had their cars broken into!!!!

I was going to give 5 stars but the lift doesn't work and the mag lock for entrance does not work, please fix.

Excellent. Very safe with gated entrance for cars and pedestrians. Pin or ticket access required to get in! Cheaper than others in the area and half the price if booked online in advance, which we did on the day. Far better than the other car parks in the area by a long way!!

What a great place to park in the Russell Square area! Secure parking, with metal gates that only open when a car drives in. Large parking bays make it easy to park. If you can book in advance it's much cheaper. Also if you're visiting someone in the neurological hospital in Queens Square, and doubtless other places like that, you can pick up a voucher in the hospital that gives you 50% off the cost of parking at Secure Parking, making it excellent value.

Great car park, location and price. Inner city car park for £10 All Day Parking. Highly Recommended

Aug 12, 2015

Great car park, had 50%off the price because I stayed at the Russell hotel

Fantastic space. If you visit British Museum and have to park, it does not get better than this. Found a space in the middle of the day without any trouble. Definitely worth it!

Sep 6, 2013

I found this car park purely by chance, but glad I did. Middle of the day (11:30am) and found a space with no trouble. The car park is very secure with electronic gates at the barriers and all doors require you to have your ticket. Excellent. The price was also quite a bit cheaper than other car parks in the area. Highly recommended.

Gated entrance, and exit along with being manned means a very secure carpark. Easy to find and lots of space. Brilliant price for inner city carpark. Will definatly use again.

Awesome location just next door to British Museum, lots of parking space on Sunday even in the middle of the day.

Apr 17, 2012

Parked here on a Sunday for the British Museum - right next door. The other review is right strange downward spiral shape, makes the parking spaces into a trapezoid, so reverse parking can cause a slight brain ache, but don’t let that put you off.

Apr 3, 2010

Very good car park in a great location. Feels pretty secure, you have to have a ticket to even get in on foot. Very interesting design!

Mar 10, 2010

Great car park, no complaints at all. Secure and very handy location.

Jun 30, 2009

Great car park, decent sized spaces, albeit in a strange spiral, and lots of classic cars to gawp over. Very cheap night rate - £6.80 (June 2009) so long as you park after 6pm.

Parking in London

London is an extremely busy city and driving in the centre is challenging.

Restrictions typically apply between 8.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday and from 8.30am to 1.30pm on Saturdays.

Many of London's roads operate 'Pay & Display' schemes, which are expensive for longer stays.

Don't forget about the Congestion Charge and remember that finding a parking space can be tricky!

On-Street (Pay & Display)

Most streets in central London have parking meters, with the parking bay marked out. Some only permit you to use them for a designated amount of time (eg 2 hours) the details will be marked on the meter. In addition, they indicate the times that you need to pay to use them and when you can park free, usually after 18.30.

Please note that many central London areas operate 'Pay by Phone' parking only. In other words, instead of having to put money in a meter or a Pay and Display machine, you can only use your mobile phone to pay for parking.

Commercial Car Parks

Using car parks is often preferable to on-street parking as many roads are reserved for resident permit holders only.

Luckily, there are many car parks in central London. Their locations are indicated on street signs which have a white "P" on a blue background; often there is an arrow indicating which direction you need to go to find the car park.

Congestion Charge

Vehicles which drive within a clearly defined zone of central London between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday, have to pay a £11.50 daily Congestion Charge.

Payment of the charge allows you to enter, drive within, and exit the Charging Zone as many times as you wish on that day.

You do not have to pay the charge on weekends, English public holidays, designated non-charging days, or between 18:00 and 07:00.

As you enter the zone, you will see a large letter 'C' in a red circle.

The charge zone currently covers the following areas:  Victoria, St. James’s, Waterloo, Borough, City of London, Clerkenwell, Holborn, Finsbury, Bloomsbury, Soho, Mayfair, and parts of Marylebone.

Use the C-Charge filter on the map to display the Congestion Charge zone on the map.

Further information can be found on the Transport for London website.

Clamping/Towing Away

This is an every day reality in London!

Do not expect to see any extra warning signs to indicate you are in an area with towing away or clamping in force. Remember, park with care in London as tickets cost up to £80 and towing away an extra £125.

West End Shows / Theatre Parking

Q Parks car parks offers a Theatreland Parking Scheme with 50% off car parking charge, up to 24 hours! At the theatre, ask the kiosk staff to validate your paper ticket (they will use a validation machine). Participating car parks are Chinatown, Leicester Square, Marble Arch / Park Lane, Oxford Street, Pimlico, Soho and Trafalgar Square.

Parking at London Airports

London is also home to 5 airports:
