Marketgate Shopping Centre

Hello. Looking for others who had their car locked in this car park. We genuinely didn’t know it closed as not from area, and even looked for signs. As we only saw the tariff sign we incorrectly assumed that you could park for however long (the tariff sign gives up to 24 hours). We have been in contact with them and received a pre written email about 13 signs etc (I’m sure they send out regularly). I’m not here to be reimbursed, but want the car park to have clearer signs which are situated next to where you park and also the pay station. We have since found people who have also been stung by the lack of clear signage.

When it says it shuts at 6pm this means the automated barriers are locked so if you return to collect your car at 7pm having stupidly supported the local restaurant after shopping you will be faced with an hour wait and £30 release charge on top of £10 if the delay took you over the 3 hour limit ! Shockingly bad customer service !!!!

Appalling, my plastic token slipped behind dash board after I’d paid and they charged me £10 to exit on top of £1.70 already paid for less than an hour’s parking. Spoke to Sarah - manager who was very unapologetic & thought it entirely fair ! Didn’t want to leave any stars but had to give it one so that I could post this review to warn others !

I have a 4 month old and there are no parents and children parking but handy for town parking

Wanting to visit the castle and prison we looked for a nearby car park and this fitted the bill perfectly. It was handy for the shops too and very keenly priced.
