My wife parked here on a Friday afternoon after work and went over the 2 hours by 35 mins. This was due to an incident which needed my wifes skills. persons involved are still with us, this was important. £60 fine received. Not worth trying to appeal as the costs would just escalate as the company have no morals. London based company ripping poor people off. it will happen time and time again. The Council must have sold the land to them at some point. Absolutely ridiculous.

We use this car park on a regular basis , untill this morning when a parking ticket came thru the door for stopping in 18 mins after 6pm yet within our 2 hours limit ??? What on earth is this about disgraceful Had no idea of this pathetic rule Has any one just not paid it on principle???

Fined for staying 17mins after 21:30 with a female friend whose bus was late. There were groups of people hanging around and I was making sure they were safe. There is not clear signage at night or at the entrance - there should be a barrier if the car park closes and you're not supposed to enter & can't pay to be there at that time of night. This is robbery & should be illegal.

This car park is a disgrace the road condition is appalling, about time the owners ploughed money n effort into fixing the potholes!!

How can the local authority allow nexus to get a licence to extort money from motorist who unconsciously drop people off in this car park after 20.00hours and incur a£60 fine

this isn't a car park it's a moneymaking machine for nexus. Car broke down and despite numerous efforts to contact the number on the display board was unsuccessful. A.A.attended and said they would provide evidence of breakdown. We have had a letter demanding payment of £170. Money we can hardly afford being pensioners. So now we are left with either heating the house or eating.This company is a disgrace and should be investigated. by the ombudsman at the earliest opportunity

Absolute disgrace. Pulled in here to order a takeaway in the shop opposite. Never realised you couldn’t and received a £60 fine. Granted I didn’t read the sign but assumed it was ok. An honest customer using the local shops. The owner of this car park should hang their head in shame, what an utter disgrace. Fair to say I’d never use this car park again or that local business either. Well done.

Avoid this car park at all costs. I was unaware of the 'closing' time of 20:00. I was well within the two hour free stay but went past the closing time = £60 fine!!! The car park does not actually close but they will fine you if you enter past 20:00. Absolutely madness that will drive people away from local businesses.

Its a great handy little Car Park in the centre of town, or used to be. Just been hit with a fine for using it at night. Couldn't see any signs warning me of the fact, but then again it was dark. The operators need to start placing signs that are clearly visible on entering the car park, not a game of hide and seek.

The ownership of the car park now turning to more and more aggressive money making ventures whilst forgetting they also own the real estate of the shops who pay them rent. When everyone stops using the car park then what will happen?

If you go to the theatre don't use this car park. Free only till 20:00 You will be fined if you stay over this limit. In my view a money making trap.

Also fined £60 when I went to the theatre in Consett only over stayed 19 minutes. I’ve always parked here when I’ve gone to the theatre.....

We went to drop relatives with children to the bus station. Bus was cancelled so had to wait an extra half an hour for the next bus to arrive at 10:30pm at night. Couldn’t leave them alone at that time in case the last bus never arrived. Was fined for overstaying for an hour and thirty mins, while the car park was absolutely empty. Is this justice for caring for guests, who don’t drive? Penalty of £60? You are just there to make free money!

Parked in this empty car park on an evening to use the theatre in Consett and was fined £60 for the privilege of overstaying an hour. What was the harm in staying over the 2 hour limit while supporting the local theatre!!!!
