My elderly mother, shopped in Asda and has received a fine, After shopping she went into the cafe and spent some time with a friend. I can understand a fee for non shoppers but to penalise an OAP who has proof of shopping in Asda (receipt) is definitely not fair!!!! OAPs should not have to rush through their shopping often its the only time they get to socialise with others and meet up with friends. I would view this car park as OAP unfriendly!!! If you want time to do your shopping and enjoy a cafe meal afterwards I would suggest Morrisons Supoermarket, Not only is the car park free but the supermarket and car park staff are kind and the prices are better!!!

be very wary i went over the time by 16mins and got a fine not realising you need your receipt to appeal

Whilst there is no on-site parking there are several ideally located pay and display car parks, aswell as other pay on street parking and pay and display car parks.

The best placed parking would be SiP car park at end of John Street,

Opposite Stockport Magistrates Court on Edward Street next to Halfords.

On street pay & display further down Middle Hillgate or Hopes Carr

Nearest Free Parking is along Canal Street (but very busy at times)
