Just came out of the car park and the man in the kiosk was very rude and dismissed me when I asked him a question. No customer service at all. Tuesday 29/7/25 at 14.10
How can you encourage people into Epsom? It’s cheaper to go to Kingston, or better still, cheaper to hop on a train to all the shops and restaurants in London! I was six minutes over 6 hours due to a little late shopping and dinner - the parking charge of £25! I have never spent so much on parking! This council needs to lower the charges otherwise Epsom will never recover.
To expensive to park, the charges are ridiculous, 1 hour 3 minutes £4, prices like this will discourage people from shopping in Epsom.
If I could give zero stars I would. I stopped using this car park because it is overpriced, has an antiquated token system & the staff are surly & rude. One man in particular is very aggressive & needs to be sent on a customer service course. Don’t park here if you are a woman on your own.
I have arthritis in my right shoulder so when I exit the over priced Ashley Centre car park I ALWAYS Pull forward and get out of my car and put the token in the machine to exit. Today, however, my token wouldn’t go in to the machine. I pressed the help button and to my horror got shouted at by the attendant who said I had to reverse. When I tried to explain my predicament he shouted at me again and asked if I wanted his help or not. He was the nastiest man I have ever met. I will avoid Epsom and the Ashley Centre car park like the Plague.
How can you encourage people to visit the local shops when you charge such massive amounts?! No wonder people shop online. Such costs don’t encourage people to stop and shop! I was just over 6 hours after shopping and meeting a friend - the parking charge of £25(!!!!) was more than I spent on lunch! I’ll be having lunch elsewhere in future. Shame on the greedy council.
I lost my token yestetday when the flat rate is £2.50. The parking attendant didn't look at me when I went to the office so I knocked on the glass. He very slowly came across and spoke incoherently through the glass. I said I couldn't understand him so he partially opened it. He was curt and unfriendly. I had to return there later when I confirmed I'd lost my token. He ignored me and walked out of the office. When he eventually spoke to me he was curt and abrupt saying 'it's £6 + £2.50' which is ridiculous for Sundays with a flat rate charge. I paid at the machine and he shouted at me in front of other customers 'you can't have a refund if you find your ticket'. The whole experience was horrible. It's expensive to park and the least customers should expect is courtesy from car park staff. I hope you act on all these negative reviews.
The parking attendant was extremely rude when I went to the office seeking help, my token did not come out of the machine, the attendant was very confrontational and insisted I get a 3 children out of my car and go back up to the 3rd floor and press a help button on the machine to get help, I refused and after arguing with him for 10 minutes he eventually done what he should have in the first place and issue a token so I could leave. They are confrontational, rude, extremely unprofessional avoid them if you can
I was shocked to see that the prices had gone up again to visit a town that’s got less and less shops to visit! I took my grandson to soft play and popped into a couple of shops afterwards but WOW it’s expensive!!
Twice today on entering and leaving the 2nd floor of the Ashley Centre car park I e countered drivers driving against the one way system. I was verbally abused when I pointed this out to the 2 drivers. Clearer signs with arrows and/or no entry boards would help avoid crashes and injury to pedestrians. Ignorant and careless drivers don't seem to care they are accidents waiting to happen.
The Token payment system is outdated and inconvenient. It's about time Epsom & Ewell Borough Council modernised and introduced technologies such as mobile apps and ANPR (Automatic number-plate recognition) into their car parks.
Surly, uncooperative, jobsworth staff. Rip off pricing and small parking bays. A town centre with no street parking through the double yellow lines. Largely given up going to Epsom, will support other towns such as Kingstonwhere in the Seven Kings car park it is currently £1 an hour…..
The machine did not return the token and I was made to pay £6 for lost token so I can get out. I had a receipt that I paid but the Staff did not want to know. Bad Experience, terrible service.
Awful customer service. Complained that my fee went from £6 to £12 because I was 3 minutes over 5 hours due to waiting on a line of people trying to pay at 1 machine on 2nd floor. Person I spoke to basically said too bad, you have to pay. Shameful charging people so much. The centre is going to eventually close down because so few people shop there!
Way too expensive. Epsom needs shoppers! Parking in Sutton is a doddle and significantly cheaper. Why would you want to go to Epsom and pay a fortune for the pleasure?
Ridiculous High charges , making shopping in the area out of the question for future shopping trips .
Discussing charging disable people to park even after 6pm attending the Ashley Theatre. The council should be ashamed of themselves.
We visited this car park on the 18th of January 2019. and parked for just over 5 hours. Unaware of what would happen if we did.We were astonished that the price jumped from £5 80 for up to 5 hours to £12 what a rip-off!!!!and BEWARE after 6 hours INCREASING TO £20!!We were so shocked and distressed we left the token in the machine and could not get out once at the barrier!!. Wife had to alert the staff. Fortunately some kind person came down with our token so we could be released!!What a horrible and stressful afternoon we had indeed!Set an alarm on your phone so you dont go over 5 hours. Be warned.
Disgusted. Paid £5.80 to park for 4 hours, have a receipt for payment. Got to the barrier, but did not have a disc to exit. Told it was my fault I had not picked up the disc and would have to pay a further £5 to exit the car park even though I had a payment receipt. Cant believe this is legal!!!!!
Worlds most money making car park. No discount for the staff working in Ashley Centre.
Too expensive and no discount for the staff . Better off park in hook road car park with a card discount !
The claim of CCTV in operation is a stretch! We had someone reserve into our parked car and leave a significant amount of damage. Naturally the coward drove off without a note, but we had no luck with the security system as they don't record everything.
For regular users, "Top up cards" are available from E&EBC so you can touch in and touch out at the barriers (avoiding queues at the payment machines). Disabled drivers get an extra free hour if they use this service and register their blue badge when applying for the card. There is adequate disabled parking near the lifts on every floor.
Staff extremely unhelpful if you need to use the help button. Would benefit from going on a Customer Service course so do not appear so robotic in their responses.
Token system instead of a entry/exit ticket, so don't lose it or your track of time! A days parking cost me £17.50 so this is not a cheap car park - however it is built onto the Ashley Centre and is also good for the High St. Big safe car park but expensive.
