Worst carpark in Birmingham You have to drive round for nearly an hour to get parked

Mar 14, 2024

Very poor indeed. It's not worth 1 star. I spent 40 mins driving around the carpark, in the end I had to go miss and missed my appointment. No parking spaces outside the hospital either, it's the worst carpark I have ever been to.

Had an appointment for Ent for my disabled son, drove around the car park ages no spaces! Thankfully had my daughter with me so left them in car park and drove down and left the car a my friend's house near by ! Nearly missing his appointment, they should have people guiding people in to spots or closing the car park and not letting others in disgusting

Parking machines barely functioning. They only accept coins, and even then it doesn’t register the coins have entered. Only option is to pay physically at the security office which is poorly attended and or when it is attended staff are stood idly… if G4S can afford to pay for staff to be stood around doing nothing they can afford to provide suitable ticket machines that accept card.

Wednesday 7th June was a busy day at heartlands and I spent 15 mins driving round the car park! never having been there before, I did not know the the routing but eventually found a space. On returning 2 hours later, I was a bit confused from my treatment and took a while to find my car! Anyway, I drove round to find the exit, thinking that's where I would have to pay but the barrier was stuck up! and I had no option but to drive out - with nowhere to park, I just drove home and now wonder if I will be fined etc!! calling the Number on the website simply was useless as no response. A hopeless Car Park!!

Tried to find a parking space to visit husband in ITU drove around for at least 20 minutes and thought ok I will come out and re-enter and try again only to find out they have changed the 30minutes free to 15min!! this is ridiculous. More parking spaces required, better machines like Solihull hospital which give you change. By the time you get to ward you have already spent 40-50 minutes of your time parking and walking. This needs to change.

Horrendous car park, not enough spaces for such a busy hospital. Takes ages to find a space and recently nearly missed an out patient appointment as I was driving around the car park for 20 minutes looking for somewhere to park. Two machines to use to pay, one of which is never working and neither of them take cards, this is 2023, please get this sorted. With the amount you take in parking fees it is now time to update your antiquated machines, and can we have more than 2 please.

Disgusting had to park on pavement even though I could barely walk but had to struggle to AE joke stop letting people in if there's no room

Jan 31, 2023

Visited Heartlands twice in the last couple of days, almost impossible to find a parking space on the public car park. Had to drive around several times and even leave the car park at one point and then get a new ticket to enter and try again. Quite obvious that there are not enough spaces for the demand - need to get it sorted as visiting is stressful enough without struggling to find a space to park the car, particularly as we do not live in the area and have to travel to visit.

Awful car park...there should be a change of management for the people managing the car park...nothing works you can't pay by card, sometimes your cash is even rejected by the machine. Only 1 or 2 machine works. The fare itself is on a high.

Car Park totally inadequate for such a busy hospital, keeps letting cars in although there are no spaces available. People park all over the places, blocking access routes. I have been visiting regularly for nearly a month and spend up to 35 mins (so far) touring round for a space. My brother-in-law was 40 mins today. Time I get to the ward I hardly have any visiting time left. This hospital urgently needs to double the parking spaces available and manage the current parking properly. Absolutely shocking.

Just awful. Had an appointment this morning, but couldn't find a parking space. Me and at least 10 other cars were roaming around for about 15 mins hoping for someone to leave. Some spaces were available but way too narrow to fit my car into safely. Left to find street parking, but found nothing. Had to cancel my appointment in the end. Probably going to be getting a taxi next time.

Absolute fiasco trying to park here. Zero spaces , cars abandoned on verges. Hyper stressful just trawling round the car park with lots of others just hoping that someone will leave.

Nov 15, 2022

There’s never any available spaces, people abandon their cars all over the place. Adds additional stress to hospital visits.

Sep 29, 2022

If I could leave zero stars I would. Arrived today to visit my very sick father at approx 11.am no spaces, some cars were just abandoned on verges . Drove round with approx 30 other cars trying to find a space. Left to find street parking … nothing . Drove back into car park still no spaces so left again drove to my mums and got a taxi there instead !!!! Most appalling car park. Adding more stress to an already stressful situation when trying to spend quality time with a loved one. Disgusted!

Sep 25, 2022

The worst hospital parking i have seen. No card or mobile payment. No APP Parking either. If you don't have cash you are screwed. The parking office does not open until 8:00 a.m. not even sure if you can use cards there either.

Aug 23, 2022

Disabled parking spaces are constantly used by staff. No blue badges or parking permit! Makes it impossible for patients. (Dialysis unit at heartlands.)

May 10, 2022

No machine took cards ridiculous.

Jan 10, 2022

Discusted that you have to pay £3.10 to park only being parked there 7 minutes longer than the 30 mins free. Had to walk to the furthest point in the hospital to have childs bloods taken absolutely discusting i get charged same as someone who have parked there for 2 hours

May 9, 2021

No credit card. Had to beg for change. Then came on bike, no bike stands, so went home. This Trust is a joke

Dec 19, 2020

Charged me twice for 1 ticket, rejected my card once and then paid again from same card check my banking app and been charged £3.10 twice for 40 mins off parking

Feb 20, 2020

Why do you have to pay if you have a blue badge? You do not have to pay at QE and Solihull and there are even free blue badge spaces at Good Hope.

Aug 5, 2018

Parked car by the fracture clinic for 5 minutes so I can run in and drop some medicine off to my dad who is very ill .parking attendant 101 gave me a ticket...ugly looking creature..I'm surprised

Jun 18, 2018

Why is there No parking available for patients who have an appointment at the Resporatory dpmt - but you have parking for Staff

Sep 24, 2017

l had two parking tickets issued for not displaying a blue badge. I had parked in the car park by the outpatient dept clearly displayed on your site map as dual parking. What is your reasoning. l strongly recommend that you reprimand the person who is issuing the tickets because you are defrauding the public shame on the Heartlands Hospital for allowing this to happen.Frank
