Fining people for parking despite having disabled badges, being heavily pregnant and no clear signs! Fined £100 days before giving birth. Scumbag company

Awful system. Terrible car park. Financial rapist parking company.

Jan 15, 2024

I clearly displayed my blue badge and have now received a fine. I asked the receptionist if I needed to scan my badge and she said no as long as it’s clearly displayed. I have appealed the charge and await a response, not fair at all!

Parking is always very bad at the hospital but I've now been fined £60 for apparently parking in a staff car park (car park 1) without realising. Surely you'd think staff car parks would be clearly identified...but I guess this is how car parking partnership make their money, despite them paying for parking. Really shocking and nothing else than a scam.

Disgusting! My daughter took my mother for a cancer appointment, she has loads of disabilities and is 92 so possesses a disability badge. This was displayed with the clock. On arrival they tried to register the badge at reception but upon arrival and on leaving, the reception was shut. Now my daughter has a fine from these thriving carpark people. My daughters tried to appeal but the process but its beyond a joke. She’s phoned the hospital but no one is there to take her call. How can a company send out fines to people that are at end of life? With heart failure, kidney failure, RA and cancer to list but a few, they now expect my mother who can’t even afford to live in this current cost of living crisis, to pay a ridiculous parking fine. This goes against the disabled discrimination act it’s a total joke. Bring on this fine and we’ll see you in court!!!!!

I took my mum to A&E as she was very ill. I did what was said on the parking sign and went to security and gave my details. As I have a blue badge. He said that will be fine and I would not receive a ticket. A week later I receive a ticket. They should change the system or put something better in place for blue badge holders. Dam right unfair.

Tried to use the payment machine but it wasn’t working. I then proceeded to walk around the hospital trying to find another machine to pay, without success. Eventually had to give up as I needed to collect my daughter from school. Couldn’t get through on the telephone number to pay either. Then received a parking ticket. I appealed offering video evidence of the machine not working if they could provide me with an email address to send it to and was just sent a letter stating that my appeal had been unsuccessful!! I will not be paying this, they can take me to court.

Jan 19, 2023

They are thieves .. sending letters threatening to pay which is not correct , appealed and no response

Dec 31, 2022

To everyone even if you have a disabled badge you have to register your car with security or hospital reception to ensure no fines are issued . You can then park using your disabled badge free of charge everytime you visit .only need to register the once. When your badge date runs out then it will need to be registered again hope this helps

Dec 5, 2022

Make sure you keep a record of your payments. My wife visited me in hospital during October/November and has so far received two penalty notices. She has receipts covering both so we have appealed, but this does seem somewhat underhand.

Oct 19, 2022

Like so many have mentioned before, I displayed my Blue Badge and received a £60 fine, not once but twice in the same day! As of 19/10/22, PAH website states the parking for Blue Badge holders is free. I will be appealing this and regardless of the outcome, I have no intension paying any fines. Take me to court CCP, lets see what a judge says.

Aug 19, 2022

No visible signs or pay machines No information about parking from reception as well but fines coming with wrong dates to pay leaving you not with 2 weeks but 1 . Never imagined you coming hospital sick and after they sending you fines without any contact to issuer of fine only post address wich means by the time they process your letter you already should be going court for not payed parking

Jul 15, 2022

Machines to pay parking today 15 July 2022 13,00 dont work at the hospital, only paybyphone disgusting, I never have the time to play with my phone guessing how to pay I miss my appointment, thank you Princess Alexandra hospital

Apr 2, 2022

on the 25th march 2022 i parked in a disable bay and displayed my card .today i recieved a parking fine for £60 .i am going to appeal ,but by what i have read it dont sound very promising ,this is disgusting ,

Jan 31, 2022

I had to take my severley disabled brother for a hospital appoint just over a week ago. Parked in didabled bay outside eye unit with a valid blue badge +have now recieved a £60 fine !!!Am furious as it says its free for the disabled, its always been free+still says in sign its free so why do i have a fine???Have appealed on line ,awaiting to hear back.

Jan 28, 2022

I have just received a £100 fine for parking at the Hospital, in a disabled lot with a valid disabled badge, I have been going to this hospital for a number of years with different health problems, and NEVER had to pay parking fees, as far as I was concerned I didn’t have to pay, why have the rules been changed and no proper signage being displayed? It is an utter disgrace that this company is allowed to make money out of sick and disabled people, this should be deeply investigated, I have had two appointments in a week, so have received one fine, so now I can expect another one anytime now £200, all because of the negligence of a company that can’t be bothered to put adequate signage, and new rules, , it’s disgraceful

Nov 7, 2021

display signs high up so you cannot see them. watch out fir these charges. not a great system and no sign to say need to pay from 1 Nov

Apr 7, 2021

This system is absolutely awful! So gets no stars. My Dad is 86, there's enough for him to worry about staying safe from Covid, getting to his appointment on time, trying to find a parking space and now thanks to this stupid system has to be a Tech wiz kid to try and figure out how to pay for parking and not get fined from this lot of thieves.

Jun 17, 2020

I had to attend PAH 30/12/19 due to blood clot etc, was there for over 5hrs, & didn't realise the parking system was different from when my husband was in there 8th Nov for a week. They sent me a fine, but i took it further to appeal, which I have lost. Just got a letter 10th June saying I owe £100, I cannot pay this all in one go, the signs @ this hospital for parking is horrendous. CPP are thieves. Roll on when hospital parking is free, its not a days outing. its an essential place.

Mar 11, 2020

Just received a ticket for parking in a disabled bay with the appropriate badge, have been using this hospital for quite a few years and no problem untill now. Signage is clearly not visable enough and the fine is horrendous (was gone 51mins),Parking Eye is the worst cold hearted and callous company ever, all they do is to prey on the disabled, sick and vulnerable, I do hope one day they will have disabilities bestowed upon them that will make them struggle. Thank you for the fine and I hope you realise £60 is my food shopping money therefore I will not be doing that this week, not everyone has a large disposable income, daylight robbery comes to mind.

Mar 11, 2020

Disabled there is NO SIGN at the Disabled Bay....Disgusting Display Blue badge in the right bay and get £60 Fine for Hospital appointment.. You should be Ashamed life is hard enough at least put a Sign on the Main Entrance Door to state EVERYONE PAYS ....Even the Disabled Blue Badge Holders !! NO EXCEPTIONS

Mar 9, 2020

Wow, what a great con! Park in a disabled bay, no signs to say you have to pay, then you get a parking charge, appeal and they reply we have tariffs but no explanation. Quite honestly they can take me to court, I will NOT be paying. Well done PAH, going into business with thieves!!!

Mar 6, 2020

Absolute disgusting that disabled bay parkers are being charged. There is no clear signage by all the disabled bays to state the changes to parking. Users are being caught out. On notice sent in post it says signage is at front entrance and around car park, so who gets out of their car before parking or walking through to read such notices after using PAH car park for many months and having no problems until now.

Mar 5, 2020

I was fined £60 for parking in a disabled bay with my badge on show. Apparently that doesn’t matter now. I appealed against the fine and had to send personal medical information to show I was referred for the test that I attended. I got a reply that ignored everything and said I hadn’t paid so the appeal was refused. If I wanted to appeal to another company then the fine would increase to £100 if the appeal was lost. This is to inform the car parking partnership that in the future I will not be paying to park and I will not be paying any fine. DO YOUR WORST!!!!

Mar 3, 2020

Raised a complaint on 23rd Feb and had trouble again last Sunday.I dropped someone off arriving at 3.04pm and left at 3.17. The first 20 mins are free but I assumed that it was still necessary to log the time on the machine to tell the ANPR cameras that it was a short stay. No once you start the process you must finish it so I was charged £2.90 again. Lousy system and terrible documentation.

Feb 29, 2020

I have written several reviews which don't appear to have been published! Could this be because I am in dispute with these cowboys? Absolutely livid to have received a parking fine whilst I was being treated in Resus. In future I will be using the ambulance service (to which I am entitled) for all future appointments and any urgent care I may need being a sufferer of stage 4 Emphysema

Feb 23, 2020

I parked at PAH a week ago. The new system is confusing and is not properly explained. I gather that the correct procedure it to pay when you leave. But this is not clear. The machines are also not intuitive you need to guess what to do next. I paid by contactless card and there was nowhere to scan my card. To add insult to injury my card was rejected (time out) and although it gave me a “void receipt” I was in fact charged twice for the same time.

Feb 18, 2020

My father received numerous fines for parking in the disabled bay and not buying a ticket. He didn’t realise he needed to. He is a pensioner who was visiting his dying sister. Now he has a £400 fine. How terrible!

Feb 16, 2020

I went with my wife to PAH for an outpatients appointment on a Sunday morning. My wife’s car was properly parked in a bay with her blue badge displayed for just 79 minutes but she has now received a parking charge notice for £100. (£60 if paid within 14 days - big deal!) I am amazed that the CEO and/or the hospital group trust would employ such a notorious firm as Parking Eye and apparently give them carte blanche to treat it as their own gold mine. Even moreso that they can get away with it - and stay out of prison! I wonder what the CEO and the trust members pay for parking?

Feb 14, 2020

I parked in disabled bay with blue badge received penalty notice i appealed sending photos I got back the same notice no explanation

Feb 7, 2020

This is how to make extra money, from the poor, old and disabled people, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Jan 31, 2020

It's rubbish. I am a disabled person who has appointment's at the hospital and now I have to pay. How much do I pay as most of my booked appointment's are always running 30 mins to 1 hour over and I normally would have to get blood tests done so do I pay for 3-6 hours to cover me if my appointment is running late and take the chance I am not over paying for parking so I don't get a fine. It's a sham and shame on PAH for letting a sham company takeover the car park.

Jan 30, 2020

I I have a motability car and parked in a disabled bay and displayed a blue badge on 24/01/2020, I have now recieved a parking fine. I have had no charges for parking in disabled bays at PAH over many years many years. There is no indication in the car parks to show that the disabled rules have changed. I intend to appeal but feel that they must put clear signage adjacent to all disabled bays that disabled people MUST PAY THE FULL PARKIG CHARGES

Jan 25, 2020

I have just got a parking fine for parking in a disabled bay which I’m allowed as I have a blue badge I’m in a wheel chair and had to go to the hospital for a X-ray and blood test at the same time I am in and out of hospital a lot and have never had to pay what is going on

Jan 16, 2020

It tell me to pay on the app but pah is not on the map on the appWhat it wrong with putting a coin in a meter RUBBISH i now look forward a a ridiculous fine they can stick where the sun don’t shine

Jan 7, 2020

Do not get a reply to our disabled parking queries, is it worthwhile writing a review?

Dec 23, 2019

I think it is disgusting I’m told we now have to pay to park in a disabled bay ! Apparently we are disabled and not poor !!

Jul 13, 2019

Machines do not work, voiding transaction for card payments.

Dec 29, 2017

Please confirm if you need to be in a disabled space to be exempt from the payment of parking - or can you park in a normal space and display your badge to be exempt from payment
