I had a similar experience to the above mentioned. It's rubbish!

I had assumed that there was a longer limit than 2 hours as there is a Currys store next door. I bought a new PC and was offered the chance of having it set up there and then. A process that would take about 2 hours. I took up that offer and also visited ASDA to do some shopping. ASDA was very busy and by the time I got back to Currys, collected my new PC and left the car park I was over 3 hours. Yes this was well over the limit but all of the time I was there I was genuinely there and made purchases at both stores. This is simply not fair

The car park itself is fine, but motorists abuse disabled spaces all the time and get away with it. The disabled spaces are always full of taxi drivers and lazy people especially at night. It is difficult to get a disabled spot close to the door at night due to non-disabled people using the disabled spaces.

Parking In Whitworth

Rossendale Borough Council provides a number disabled parking bays in Council car parks for use by vehicles correctly displaying a valid Disabled Blue Badge.

Also, there is no time limit on any car parks for vehicles correctly displaying a valid Disabled Blue Badge.

Checks have started on users of the Blue Badge Scheme in Rossendale.

Rossendale Borough Council's Traffic and Parking Team wants to reassure the public that there is not, unlike in other parts of the country, widespread misuse of the scheme.

The checks will be carried out by the Civil Enforcement Officers and the Police as part of their ongoing joint working arrangements.

For further information on the Blue Badge scheme and other information on facilities for disabled drivers please visit the Lancashire County Council Social Services Website.
