Hardly any spaces to park for cancer treatment. Makes the whole experience of having cancer even worse by stressing over where I can park

Nov 22, 2022

The parking at haematology is absolutely diabolical. As the other person stated the parking is used by anyone who doesn't even warrant a parking space leaving patients with appointments or treatment no where to park. I have been going to oncology every week for over a year & have very rarely got a parking space. Last week was a prime example of others parking unnecessary. My husband & I found a park but a man in a hi-vis jacket was stood in the middle of it. When my husband asked what he was doing he said he was saving the space for a very disabled person. My husband said "My wife is disabled & has cancer". He said "Well I have to save this parking space". Then a transit van pulled into a space 2 up from us. The man in the hi-vis jacket was saving it for his builder mate!! My husband was left fuming. This is why the car park must be monitored daily. It is just a joke. A very angry patient.

The parking at Oncology is terrible. Did you know that locals use the parking for themselves paying £3.50 to stay until 12 midnight & then continuing the next day which is unacceptable. There needs to be monitoring of some sort so that the spaces are used for patients only. Sort it our!!!!
