Rules provided are intentionally unclear in an attempt to deceive the public into paying excessive parking fines. Upon finding out I'd overstayed at the booth it wouldn't allow me to pay at all - rather leave me in the dark and still confused on what had actually happened. From my understanding this car park was free to use overnight but that's provided you're only parking within 4 hours, which isn't clearly stated. Why even bother with the time restriction at night? All the shops are closed then.. Every time I came to my car in the morning there were extreme amounts of empty spaces all around me so I can't see how I was taking any spaces away from customers of trinity square. If they clearly stated these rules in full that'd be fine but the whole system is intentionally vague and deceptive so as to extort you. The car park is still just as congested during daytime hours as its ever been - the only difference now is that the council are profiting from it

Received a parking notice from APCOA for parking in the Medical Center Car Park from August, revived confirmation today all charges cancelled.

Took my son to medical centre didn't see any signs for paying to park to see a doctor, have used car park for medical centre before with no problem, got stung this time

Absolutely horrendous arrangement. Why they don't have,like most hospitals a ticket machine/barrier on entering that issues you your ticket,Then, you either pay at machine on departure and/or have another barrier on exiting that allows you to pay and leave. It's not rocket science, just common sense.

Hardly any signs that CLEARLY state the parking conditions. I got slapped with a £70 for picking up my grandparents - I had to park in bay (was there for all of 7 minutes) rather than the pick up point, because the pick up point was full of cars just loitering or actually parked. Tried to appeal but just got told to pay it. Disgusting.

Received a parking charge notification on Saturday. A second letter arrived with it saying that if paid within 14 days the fine would be reduced from £70 down to £20 as it was the first time we had done this. Checked the date on the letters, dated 02 July, letters arrived in the post on 13th July, so just had time to get it done at £20.00. If you get the option jump in quickly otherwise you will be paying £70.00.

Used car park for a visit to see Endgame at vue. Parking has changed since the last time we had visited. Noticed the new machines and sign above saying about parking voucher from vue or tesco. Also noticed the prices for hourly rate. We (wrongly) presumed the hourly rate could be used to pay for extra time over the free time. Endgame was on for around 3 and a half hours and by the time you allow time to buy snacks and drinks first (from tesco and vue) and watch the new spiderman film trailer (which is on after Endgame finishes), we were about 15mins over. Not a problem (we thought) we can just pay for an extra hour. On validating our ticket, the machine told us we'd over stayed and gave no option to pay extra. Disgraceful! While I can see that parking restrictions are necessary to deter people from using the car park and then going into Newcastle, I think genuine customers using the shopping facilities should be given the option to pay for extra time. Used this car park for first time and it wouldn't let me pay because I was 10 mins over 4 hour stay time. Prob get a parking fine now. No where to complain to and no signage saying what happens if you go over you time. Disgraceful det up, money making scheme

Used to be a handy carpark. Used to go to the gym then get what ever bits and pieces I needed from neighbouring shops. But I wont pay 5 to park when I can go to the valley or Metrocentre and get what I need with free parking.

Wish I could give this no stars. Gateshead council strike again, enforcing a planning condition without ensuring it achieves the desired outcome. Short term visits now cost money to park unless you shop at Tesco. RIP retailers of Gateshead... I suggest you move to metro centre where parking is free and customers are actually encouraged to shop!!

This planning condition was enforced in order to push the staff in Gateshead Civic centre into paying £450 a year to park in the council carpark. Its no coincidence that the head of planning is also in charge of parking.

Come on Gateshead council surely you want trinity square to do well, the rest of gateshead is dying and you have given up on keeping it tidy it's a dump so give us some reason to still shop and eat here

I misunderstood the parking regulations after I went shopping and met my friend for lunch for my birthday. I shopped in Tesco last of all and was prepared to pay for the time over my free parking period. However that is not the way it works. It is 4 hours maximum stay full stop. I am now awaiting my £70 fine. My question is...where do you park safely in Gateshead if you plan to be more than 4 hours? Well done Gateshead Council for detering me from shopping in Gateshead at all.

This car park is fine the way it is. Two hours free !!!!! if it's a minimum of £5 purchase in the store then surely that's £2.50 an hour parking charge ??? Outrageous, how've do they prove you spent the money by the way.

Charging for this car park is a death blow for Gateshead. No mention if there is a charge for disabled parking.

Use the car park to shop at Tesco and other shop in the town centre after just noticing the machines applied to us I discussed the parking with the attendant £70.00 if you get it wrong. We spent well over £120.00 in Tesco put the shopping away in the car and went back to check out the other shops then we discovered the machines. We don't come from the locality but have used this centre a number of times Kingston Park is nearer to us we will be going there in future. I have lived and worked in Gateshead for over 40 years I have watched it going down hill for years lts self distruction and this shambles is a disgrace. think on you need the shoppers for the centre and Gateshead to stay alive. How many council office employee's is this going to effect now they will have to go back to paying to park at their place of work.

Crazy to start charging from Sept 2017. Inconvenient and costly. Will just go to Asda in Felling instead. It will discourage people from coming to Trinity Square. Bad move, very shortsighted....

Parking spaces a bit tight but for now 4 hours free parking, from 14 September 2017 i was informed you will have to pay to park here, this is the reason for the 1 star and I will shop elsewhere from that date.

Parked twice in a day and got a ticket for overstaying 4 hours..yet no mention of no return. Trying to enforce as well - allegedly I done it previously but no details can given and no notification. Bunch of cowboys and it's ashame as did like to shop at Tesco. Use Aldi
